About the Internship
The position is at the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The internship program is unpaid and full-time, i.e., an intern is expected to work five days per week (40 hours). The internship is offered in person. For in-person internships, interns must have a valid visa. All costs of travel, accommodation, medical insurance, and living expenses must be covered by the intern. The position is located in Geneva in the Division of Technology and Logistics (DTL). The internship will start on 7 October for an initial period of 3 months. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Trade Facilitation Section carries out research and technical assistance activities aimed at promoting and building capacity in trade facilitation, focusing on improving cross-border clearance efficiency and performance and trade growth and sustainability for development, especially in the context of developing countries. The focus of this internship will be to assist the section in its work to undertake research and analysis and related technical assistance projects. Training and mentoring will be provided all along the internship by the supervisor(s) and team of colleagues in the office.
